Well, I am happy to say that I have finished a commission that I am very pleased with. It was a nice break from my Edgar Allan Poe "The Raven" Altered Art book.

Altered Art Book "The Raven" By Edgar Allan Poe Illustrated by Denise Farinsky

I can't believe I haven't blogged since June! Unbelievable! Well, I have been very busy working on my altered art book "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe. It has been slow going. I am making it from an 1843 Godey's Lady Book that had been in a poor state. All of the original illustrations were torn out, pages bent, stains, etc. I am however very excited about this project and can't wait for the final result--it may be a few months before it is done.

Vintage Gilbey's Spay Royal Dancing Scot Music Box Bottle Red/Black Tartan Kilt made in Japan circa early 1960s.
The tune that is played by the music box is "Comin' Thro' the Rye" is a poem written in 1782 by Robert Burns (1759–1796).
Belleek Irish China West Highland Terrier Dog Figurine: 7th Mark or 1st Gold Mark April 1980-December 1992. [stamp color is Brown].

All original illustrations of Highland Westies and Scottish Thistle and Heather have been created by me. They were drawn on Japanese rice paper, inked and painted with watercolor and gesso, then cut out and decoupaged on glass and sealed with acrylic gloss spray.
