My first official published illustration in the form of a Fan for the Sacramento Steampunk Society!

Way back in July there was a contest in the Sacramento Steampunk Society. The goal was to design a fan that would represent the Sacramento Steampunk Society, there would be no monetary compensation for the winner, but there would be awesome prizes from the San Diego ComicCon and a free fan! So, I decided to give it a try combining my handpainted design in Photoshop that followed the format given. It was a VERY tight race and I won by a hair! The other design was wonderful and I was surprised and happy that I won. I would like to thank Jennifer Brown and other Admins of the Sacramento Steampunk Society https://www.facebook.com/groups/SacramentoSteampunkSociety/
for running a fun contest and to all the members who voted. This is my winning design:

I was the Featured Artist for "Delta Days-Sacramento Nights Artwalk" for "Steampunk Time" at the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg, CA: "Steampunk Alice--curiouser and curiouser"

The previous month in October for Second Saturday in Sacramento, I had the privilege of being the "Featured Artist" at the Old Sugar Mill " STEAMPUNK TIME @ DELTA DAYS - Second Saturday Artwalk! Presenting Denise Farinsky! It was a wonderful show an I was able to sell two original paintings and many greeting cards.

I had so much fun dressing up in costume as my version of a "Burtonesque" Steampunk Alice.

Many friends and family came to show their support along with some members of the Sacramento Steampunk Society. Here are some wonderful photos of this great event. Thanks to Erik Urias of https://www.facebook.com/ThymehadderDit Thymehadder Photography for some great photos!

Online Flipbook Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven" Illustrated by Denise Farinsky : View for Free!

It has been a very busy last two months for me. I had a very successful "Steampunk Alice" show at The Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg, CA. I will make a separate post for that awesome event! But, the next great thing is an online flipbook that I illustrated of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven"!  This book took me a little over two years to sketch, paint, and edit...then, scan, format and create the online version. I hope to create a hard copy to sell before the end of 2014.

In the meantime, please click on the following link and take a look at my FREE online flipbook of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven" and share with as many people as you can. Thank you for your time and consideration. Click on the link below:
